Katie Peterson

Katie Peterson sadly left earth in November of 2019. She was gracious, kind and full of life. She loved laughing, her family and her friends.

After Katie's passing, her businesses were able to stay in her family with her husband Corey and two children, Gracie and Gavin. Here is Katie's story, in her own words.

In 2000, I started a part time job as a Nutrition Assistant at Mayo Clinic while I was attending college. I found I was very passionate about helping people and educating them on nutrition so I decided to continue my college career and received a Bachelors Degree in Dietetics. I worked as a Nutrition Assistant and Dietitian for a total of 9 years at Mayo Clinic.

In 2003, I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. While I was working at Mayo, I furthered my education and received a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion through California University. I was blessed to make the transition from working full time to part time at Mayo while I started my business, Personal Training with KT in 2005.

In 2010, I purchased two full service gyms in Kenyon and Wanamingo, Workout 24/7 Gyms to expand my personal training business. The gyms are something I always wanted to be a part of and I'm blessed to continue with that dream.

In 2012, our daughter Gracie was born and 2014 our son, Gavin was born. The added family life and running three business at three different locations seemed almost impossible so we hired 2 additional personal trainers, McKenzie and Tina and we have a fitness manager, Tina who helps with all duties of the gyms. We are gratefully blessed to have them helping us.

After having children my motivation to raise these little peanuts became top priority for me. I researched for hours learning different health topics and found I really enjoyed all the information.

In 2017, I received a certificate from the Trinity School of Natural Health as a Certified Natural Health Practitioner and added a part time job to my schedule working with Balanced Health talking with clients about their health scans. It's been an amazing learning experience and love everything I've learn. In November 2019, I will finish another certificate from Trinity School of Natural Health with a Doctorate of Natural Health.

Our family loves to be active sometimes to a fault of always running to the next fun thing. We love traveling, hiking the National Parks, attending small town festivals, being with friends and family, and just being outside.

I absolutely love what I do as a career and love the fact I get to meet so many people and see them grow through reaching their health and fitness goals.
